1. Who we are

StudyTracker is a free web application at studytracker.co.in, built to help students and teachers track study sessions and improve academic performance.

2. What data we collect

• Account info: Email or phone used to create your account
• Profile data: Name, class, school, role (student/teacher)
• Study data: Sessions, goals, notes, flashcards, habits, planner entries
• Usage data: Basic usage patterns to improve the app

3. How we use it

To provide the service, show your analytics, allow teacher access to enrolled students' study data, send account emails (OTP, password reset), and improve the app. We never use your data for advertising.

4. Data sharing

• Firebase (Google): Auth, Firestore, and hosting on Google Cloud
• AI providers: Your question text is sent to the AI API. No personal account info is included.
• Your teacher: Study hours, subject breakdown, and goal completion only. Not your notes or flashcard content.

5. Security

Firebase Authentication and Firestore with strict per-user security rules. Teacher access is enforced at the database rule level. All data transmitted over HTTPS (TLS).

6. Retention

Data stored while your account exists. Deleting your account from Profile Settings permanently removes all data. This cannot be undone.

7. Your rights

Access, correct, or delete your data at any time from your account settings. Contact us via the in-app Help section for data export requests.

8. Cookies

Session cookies and local storage for authentication state only. No advertising cookies or third-party tracking.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
